Moon Men Cocktail Bar runs happy hour from 5:00 to 8:00 PM every day, Saturdays and Sundays included: 12 cocktails on the list are 150,000 VND each. We are on the 4th floor of 3 Au Trieu Street, in Hanoi’s Old Quarter, looking across at St. Joseph’s Cathedral. Since we open at 5:00 PM, happy hour starts the moment you walk in.
Here is how it works, which drinks qualify, and what to pick if you only plan on one or two.
How does happy hour at Moon Men work?
- When: 5:00–8:00 PM, seven days a week.
- Price: 150,000 VND per drink for every cocktail marked with the clock symbol on the menu.
- Counted by order time: any qualifying drink ordered before 8:00 PM is at the happy hour price. After that, stay as long as you like.
- Service charge: 8% on the bill, as at any other time.
There is no minimum and no bundle. Each drink on the list is 150,000 VND, however many you order.
Which cocktails are included?
The current list has 12 cocktails. Regular prices are in brackets so you can see the difference.
Signature
- The Padlar (225,000 VND) — young green rice (cốm) syrup, cream and lemon; a nod to Hanoi’s Tràng Tiền ice cream. Served in a ceramic cup on a rattan basket with a handful of cốm.
- Eggpresso Martini (275,000 VND) — strong espresso, egg-yolk foam, a hint of chocolate, on a tequila base. If you liked egg coffee in Hanoi, start here.
- Under the Sun (235,000 VND) — jasmine, soy milk and Bailey’s; creamy, fragrant and easy.
- Artini Botanical (255,000 VND) — herbal shiso, a smooth milk-punch texture and a little lime sourness.
Old Quarter
- The Cyclo (265,000 VND) — a liqueur made to one bartender’s grandmother’s recipe, with pandan; it arrives on a miniature cyclo.
Gia Đình Kỳ Quái (The Oddball Family) — each drink is a member of an eccentric family, built around one familiar Vietnamese fruit (all 225,000 VND):
- Bố Cọc Cằn (the father) — ambarella (cóc).
- Mẹ Khổ Qua (the mother) — bitter melon.
- Anh Quật Cường (the older brother) — kumquat.
- Chị Đảm Đang (the older sister) — hibiscus, cleanly sour.
- Tôi Mơ Màng (the dreamy youngest) — salted apricot (ô mai mơ).
Modern Classic
- Forest Negroni (275,000 VND) — a lighter, herbal Negroni with elderflower.
- Snow Ball (235,000 VND) — golden rum, Bailey’s, house-made mint liqueur and cream; cool and rich.
In other words, each happy hour drink is 75,000 VND (on a 225,000 VND cocktail) to 125,000 VND (on a 275,000 VND cocktail) cheaper than usual. The list can change when the menu is updated; the clock symbol on the menu is always the reliable reference.

Only having one or two — what should you order?
There is no “right” drink, only the one that fits your taste. A few pointers:
- You want to taste Hanoi: The Padlar first, then The Cyclo. Two very different stories about the same city.
- You like coffee: Eggpresso Martini.
- You like sour, fresh, not too sweet: Chị Đảm Đang or Mẹ Khổ Qua.
- You like creamy and soft: Under the Sun or Snow Ball.
- You usually drink Negronis: Forest Negroni keeps the familiar bitterness but is gentler.

Why come between 5:00 and 8:00 PM?
Beyond the price, these are the best hours for the view: the sky darkens and St. Joseph’s Cathedral is lit until 8:00 PM. If you want a seat facing the cathedral, book and ask for the carpet or glass floor — more in our guide to watching the cathedral light up with a cocktail.
